The ARRASATE Musikal Big Band arrives in Tenerife from the Basque Country

Para celebrar el Día Internacional del Jazz, hoy aterriza en Tenerife la Arrasate Musikal Big Band con una propuesta musical sugerente y un repertorio donde podemos encontrar temas de blues, swing, latin, bossaor funk.

During their stay on the island, this Big band will offer two concerts:

  • Today, Friday, April 28 at 10:30 p.m. at the EMA Stage cultural space located in Tacoronte (Carretera General del Norte N. 437)
  • Sunday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. outdoors in La Laguna (in the Torre de la Concepción)

The Arrasate Musikal Big Band was born in 2000 under the direction of the teacher José Ramón Elcoro due to a didactic need for modern music at the school under the same name. Shortly after, it is Zigor Martínez who takes over the leadership of this group to this day. His career continues to be educational and at the same time play different styles, from different eras and record albums live or in the studio.

This group has been growing over the years, now consisting of 28 members. He has played mostly in the Basque Country (in Arrasate, Bergara, Elgeta, Durango, Gasteiz or Donostia), in Barcelona and León and abroad in Munich and Maastricht. He has recorded 4 albums, has collaborated on a solidarity album with Músicos sin Fronteras and is currently preparing his 5th album.
